This is a case study on building a web application from scratch without writing a single line of code!
The presenter, Kseniya, started with solid business analysis groundwork, including a problem statement, ERD, and requirements, and then turned those into a working product using Lovable, ChatGPT, and later Claude Code.
The original goal of the application was to simplify life for a book club community by automating several manual processes like:
- Rating books (previously done in a paper notebook)
- Tracking the reading list (previously managed in a chat with no history or transparency)
The final result became much more than originally planned: a live app managing a book library, ratings, and meetings with a real database, Git, and a full deployment setup owned entirely by a non-developer.
